Raised in Chattanooga’s East Lake neighborhood, Terrell Welborn, discovered dirt bikes and motocross in the early ‘70s. This discovery influenced the rest of his life.
Terrell purchased a used Honda XL250 in 1971 and started riding at all the local tracks around the area. He raced in all the local races and got to know the other riders personally. He soon noticed that the riders needed parts for their bikes that were not readily available at the local shops. So each weekend he loaded the parts on his truck and brought them to the tracks to sell. This weekend parts business was the humble beginnings of RT Cycles of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Terrell and his wife, Mary Alice, have continued to serve the Fort Oglethorpe community and surrounding Chattanooga area. Their love for people and passion for powersports has helped grow their business into what it is today.
